Trimbox Authorised Distributor for Turkey

A manufacturer of surge arresters, neutral-earth regulators, rack cabinet sockets and machine protection panels.

Trimbox is a Turkish manufacturer of surge protection equipment: every stage of protection from the Class B arresters that meet the lightning current at the building intake to the Class D modules that cut the residual voltage in front of the device, plus neutral-earth regulators, rack socket blocks and machine protection panels.

Its buyer is whoever has to get the protection chain right before the electrical design is handed over: the panel builder, the site electrical lead, the solar and telecom contractor, the data centre operator.

The product itself is cheap; choosing it wrongly costs you the device it was meant to protect. Sedan is this brand's Authorised Distributor for Turkey.

Answered before you ask

The two questions this brand raises most

How do you decide which model suits our panel?

The choice is made from five inputs, not from a guess:

  • The earthing system (TN-S, TN-C-S, TT) — this determines whether neutral-earth protection is needed at all, and the device's continuous operating voltage (Uc).
  • Phase count — single- or three-phase; the 2-pole / 4-pole choice.
  • Where the panel sits in the chain — building intake B (Type 1), sub-distribution C (Type 2), in front of sensitive equipment D (Type 3). The standard framework is IEC 61643-11.
  • The impulse withstand of the protected equipment — the residual voltage the arrester lets through (Up) must stay below the equipment's withstand (Uw); otherwise the arrester is fitted and the equipment still fails.
  • Connection and back-up protection — keeping the connecting leads short and fitting an appropriate fuse ahead of the arrester is what the IEC 60364-5-53 installation rules require.

We can read all of this from your panel's single-line diagram, or from a photograph of it.

If something fails, do we deal with the manufacturer or with you?

With us. A distributorship is more than being allowed to sell the product: choosing the right model, mounting it in the panel, commissioning it and answering for it when it fails are all part of the scope.

The product warranty is the manufacturer's and the workmanship warranty is ours; we run both from one point of contact.
