Rotarex Firetec fire suppression

A gas control manufacturer since 1922; complete fixed fire suppression systems through its Firetec division.

225 products · 5 categories

Rotarex is a gas control manufacturer founded in Luxembourg in 1922 as Ceodeux and still run by the fourth generation of the same family: cylinder valves, pressure regulators and complete gas systems. Around 2,000 staff, ten manufacturing and R&D sites, sales in more than 150 countries.

The division that matches Sedan's business is Rotarex Firetec. What it makes is not a component but a complete system — cylinder, detection, nozzle and actuation arrive together. CO2, clean agent, inert gas, water mist, foam and dry chemical lines; LPCB, VdS, UL and FM approved systems for electrical cabinets, commercial kitchens, engine compartments and data centres.

The rest of the group — the industrial, medical and specialty gas valve catalogues — sits in the second block below: it shows the manufacturer's scale, not the system Sedan installs.

Answered before you ask

The three questions suppression raises most

How do you decide which extinguishing agent we need?

The agent is decided by the volume, what is inside it, and whether people are present:

  • Clean agent and inert gas — server rooms, archives, electrical rooms. They leave no residue, so no equipment cleaning is needed after a discharge.
  • CO2 — unoccupied enclosed volumes and enclosed machine compartments. Cheap and effective, but never used in an occupied space.
  • Water mist and foam — engine compartments, generators, paint booths and other volumes with a liquid fuel risk.
  • Dry chemical and local application — point risks such as fume hoods, CNC machines and commercial kitchen hoods.

Send the dimensions of the volume to be protected, the equipment inside it and whether people are present; we will send an agent recommendation with the reasoning.

Can it be connected to our existing fire detection system?

Usually yes — a suppression system can come with its own detection line, or take a release signal from the existing panel. Which one is right is decided by the panel's output capacity and the independence the regulations require.

Send the make and model of your existing panel; we will show the connectivity position and, where needed, the interposing relay work as a separate line in the quote.

Who handles periodic maintenance and cylinder refilling?

We do. A fixed suppression system does not end on the day it is installed: monitoring cylinder pressure, testing the detection line and refilling after a discharge are recurring jobs.

Rotarex also offers solutions such as DIMES that measure the cylinder level in real time — somebody has to notice that the system is charged and ready, and noticing it once a year is noticing it too late.

Have the dimensions of the volume to be protected? Send them and we will send an agent recommendation within 24 hours.

Tell us the protected volume and we will size the system together

The dimensions of the space, the equipment inside it and whether people are present — those three are enough. We come back with an agent recommendation, the system scope and the price.
