COMPACT LINE is a complete pre-engineered fire suppression system designed to protect vehicle engine compartments. It detects and suppresses fire automatically and needs no power supply for activation; detection is available as electronic linear heat detection (LHD) or as pneumatic detection. The extinguishing agent is a liquid water-based agent with glycol-free antifreeze and a low freezing point, developed to remove heat rapidly and prevent reignition. It is fluorine-free, contains no chemicals and has a ten-year service life.
The system is tested and certified to UNECE R107 for passenger bus engines and to AS5062 for mining vehicles, and is RISE approved; it is the most compact system to have obtained UNECE certification, protecting a 4 m3 engine compartment with 4 L of agent. Typical applications are buses and coaches, mining and forest equipment. The patented dual-chamber cylinder keeps the extinguishing liquid and pressurised nitrogen apart; on activation the gas drives a piston that pushes the liquid into the discharge line at a constant regulated pressure, in any cylinder orientation.
