Inert gases occur naturally in the atmosphere and suppress fire by reducing the oxygen level in the room until combustion is no longer possible. When a fire breaks out the system activates automatically and smothers it before it spreads, lowering oxygen below the 15% needed for combustion while still allowing people in the room to evacuate safely. The Rotarex Firetec INEREX System uses argon (IG-01), nitrogen (IG-100) or a mixture (IG-55, IG-541), and is compatible with all inert gas agents at 200 or 300 bar cylinder pressure.

Inert gases are chemically neutral, electrically non-conductive and leave no residue, so sensitive electronic equipment is not at risk and activity can resume without costly clean-up. This suits sites where water or foam would cause irreversible damage, such as museum storage and data centres, as well as offshore platforms, laboratories and industrial production. The system has zero ozone depletion and zero global warming potential and operates within NOAEL limits, so it can be used in occupied areas; silent nozzles limit discharge noise. INEREX systems are certified by UL, FM and VdS.

Tell us the protected volume and we will size the system together

The dimensions of the space, the equipment inside it and whether people are present — those three are enough. We come back with an agent recommendation, the system scope and the price.
