The water mist total flooding system protects enclosed spaces and special hazards using ultra-fine droplets that control and suppress fire while keeping water consumption and damage to sensitive equipment low. It works through a triple-action mechanism: the fine droplets evaporate and absorb heat, cooling the flames and the surrounding area; the vapour generated displaces oxygen at the fire source; and the mist cools the fuel, which prevents re-ignition and gives lasting fire control.
The system uses widely available IG-100 at 200 bar and can be refilled on site with tap water, which reduces maintenance costs and removes the need for filling station homologation. It is environmentally neutral, with ODP = 0 and GWP = 0, and safe for occupants even in enclosed spaces, with NOAEL and LOAEL values of 0. Water mist installations are particularly effective for liquid fuel fires, spray fire hazards and electrical equipment risks, including in ventilated or partially open enclosures. Typical applications are gas turbines, generators and engine rooms.
